Kai Shun have cult status the world over for the quality, performance, craftmanship and the sheer beauty of their knives. Larger than a standard santoku, the shun classic "Sumo" santoku is an astonishingly efficient slicing knife. The sumo santoku's blade is 30% wider and 1/2 in. Longer than the standard santoku. This wider blade allows effortless slicing of even thicker foods, such as potatoes or beets. The extra-wide blade also makes it easy to scoop up prepared food for quick transfer to the cooking pot or pan.

Care Instructions:
To keep this Kai Shun Classic Knife in the best condition possible, it should be hand washed using a light detergent and some warm water. Dry with a soft cloth. It should never be placed in the dishwasher or submerged in water.
